About Knox Metropolitan Housing Authority (KMHA)

KMHA was created in 1975 to administer the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program for Knox County. KMHA is a political subdivision of the State of Ohio, and is regulated by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Knox Metropolitan Housing Authority is governed by a five member Board of Commissioners appointed by various local elected officials within the City of Mount Vernon and Knox County.
